hello wello fellow sabahrians :)

bonding camp was one huge ball of fun! it's amazing how fast we bonded in a matter of 3 days against all odds & this could only be made possible because of every single one of you. so here's a big..
SPANKEW! :D
children's society was a realization that i'm ageing as i type. oh how we all yearn to go back in time & live life as kids sometimes. nonetheless, i had a great time there & i'm definitely looking forward to the upcoming trips!

in approximately 2 hours, we'll be at the airport checking in. destination sabah! how surreal is that.

sunday, the eve of our trip to sabah... and here i am writing my last reflections..

bonding camp was fun... it was a stepping stone towards the trip to Sabah.
from strangers to friends and hopefully to good friends we will be in the future...
got to know each and every of my Sabahrians team mates, very fun-loving and out-going....

the trip to the Singapore Children Society...

it was a very enriching experience to this place...
though it started with a lecture-liked presentation by the personnel, after that was jus pure fun...
some kids were very innocent, some were otherwise...
this is my first time coming to such a place and hopefully and will not be my last trip there...
the kids really need our care can concern, time to play, interect and shower them love...
i love them... ah boy.... very active.... always running around... sweating all the time...

hope to see them soon and to the trip to sabah....

mmm.... quite tired... jus after packing my bag... finally...

Hmmm....well...i'm LATE in putting up my blog thus i'll combine both reflections for bonding camp and the outreach program....Sorie everyone....=(

Bonding Camp
Firstly i wanna say dat it was tiring for me as i had to attend two camps at the same time...One was serve sabah bonding camp and the other was NYAA Camp Aden...Both is equally important for me to achieve my award. Therefore i had to sacrifice. I had to run frm punggol to ngee ann poly n ngee ann to punggol...i wonder whether any1 had done it like me before...attending two camps which is at different places and yet so far distant.

Now! Lets talk abt the camp itself. It was great getting to know all of you. I was glad dat we cld bond pretty fast and hope our relationship will remain as it is or even better as time pass by.
I discover a few things about every team members. And what everyone of us have in common is dat beneath every smile & laughter, there sure lies at least a heartfelt story. It's unbelievable yet it's true.
I hope to get to noe all better after the sabah trip. We sure have to learn to accept each other the way every individuals are. Lets hope dis is the start of a bLoOm!nG Fr!eNdsHip!

The Outreach Program
It was my first time to the S'pore Children Society. I have very little knowledge about this organization. Until that day the lady told us indepth. It was a great exposure for us. Everything was beyond my expectation. As a person who have little knowledge on handling kids i had a very challenging experience. Still i had an equal amount of joy and definitely looking forward to the next visit. ;)

being a fellow sabah-rian...

whoa.. the actual trip is comin reaaal soon, in like one more day!?! time do flies by huh... scary!! hahaha..

it was dauntingly quiet at first when we all started out. i can still vividly remember the first meeting we had. the room was dead quiet and only the soft murmurings among those people we knew broke the silence. everyone was in their own cliques and stuff. who would knew one month on, we will grow to be one united sabah-rians with a common cause. hahaha...

different backgrounds. different schools. different courses. different personalities. different traits.

but ONE COMMON GOAL: SERVE SABAH!

we indeed have come far since the bonding camp which did wonders in getting us all working as one whole big group. no, working TOGETHER as a united sabah-rians. heck, not even visits from the others are going to deter us! haha... i bet it was certainly an eye-opener to some!

15 days of living together under one roof, in an unknown environment is indeed a tall order. thats why we gotta stick through thick and thin throughout the whole trip and always be there for one another. and with the success of the bonding camp, hope it will kickstart greater things to come from this group of sabah-rians.

like the ancient folklore.. a stick alone can be broken into two. but when several sticks are together, it will be hard to broken...... or whatever how the story goes la! you guys know what i mean rite? hahaha...

on a personal note.. are you guys hungry? haha... really appreciated all the stuff we shared during the camp, from the life stories of ourselves to the toothpaste for brushing teeth. hehe.. hopefully everyone will enjoy the upcoming trip and lets be one helluva team ya?

peace out!

ps: i promise to be good during the trip... hehehe!

can't believe how fast time flies...just 2 more days to Sabah!

the bonding camp..
though it was a short 3 days, i think we all agree that time passed by really fast..i really enjoyed the whole camp..the games was fun, the food was delicious. it's amazing how fast we bonded...really hope to get to know everyone much better in Sabah =D

the children's home...
wow, i must say...the children there were hyper-active! (was i that energetic when i was a kid?)
the kids taught me a lot about being flexible. shi shi initially briefed us about the planned games, but when we went there, we realised whatever we plan was too cheem for the kids there, so we were forced to think back on all e games we used to play when we were so young.

2 more days to Sabah!

Bonding camp.
It all started out at the mrt station where everyone just sat down there and look at each other. Then it was game time when we had our fun knowing each other and playing games. We are bonded in a very short time, well, what can I say, its all fate that brought us together.

I volunteered to be a leader and the first 'meeting' that I held was disastrous, many thanks to rizal because he helped me with alot of talking. Something happened at home and I have to leave early, but all in all, it was a fun experience.

From strangers, we become friends.

Visit to children home.
I conducted a briefing on the bus due to the shortage of time. So, was feeling good to see them once again. We changed all our plans last minute, because when we reach there, realise that the age group is different from what we are told and the number is also different. Just gotta impromtu. We had fun chasing the kids, playing with them.

Suddenly felt that their world is good, because they got to express themselves as and when as they like. It reminds me of what mummy said, after one week, all of us will show our true self. Is it really so? It have to be leave to the trip itself, and for us to find the answer.

I may not be a good leader, but I can guarantee that I have a nice group of members.

Hello pple! This is what i think about

Bonding Camp:

Camp was real fun! From Punggol MRT Station where all of us dun really noe each other at all to during bonding camp where we had lots of fun playing captain ball, midnight chats and card games; can tell that we bonded alot by the end of the camp!!! Those 3 days were really great and through bonding camp i really got to know more about you all in depth!!!

Children's Home:

During briefing Shi Shi told us that we will require some patience but i didn expect that much patience would be needed!!! The children there are so energetic...i feel old all of a sudden when i was playing with them...haha! Some of the children were quite shy so we used chocolates to encoourage and motivate them which really did work! They are children afterall! I had fun visiting the Children's Home and i hope the children had much fun too! Looking forward to the revisit! =)

Another 3 days to go people!

yay! sabah trip is coming soon, and i am rather anxious about it!

Bonding camp was cool. Got to know lots of people with the same kind of enthusiasm as me and passion to help others. YAY! :D The trip itself would definitely be one in a lifetime experience and its only with you guys. You all would make the trip specially memorable. :)))

The visit to the children's home was really fun. Got to mingle with the kids who are way to cute to resist! They are so playful and innocent. Fighting over the small little things, which actually reminded me of myself. haha it was great fun :)

Alright, looking forward to 27 april. BYE!

So so so. Here I am to reflect.

Firstly, I echo Tony's heartfelt thank you for allowing us to join you in this trip. Already the bonding camp was such a blast and I has such a good time hanging out and getting to know all of you better. Definitely, I was apprehensive at first, but that was just me being the idiot I am. It really made me realise that even though we're from different schools, we're not so different after all. Deep down inside, we all have the same goal in mind: to serve.

So let's not forget all the fun and games we had, unknown entities following us, troubles starting the bbq fire, drinking campbell soup at midnight, sharing and reflections. It's something I know I'll hold dear in my heart for a very long time.

I'm definitely looking forward to Sabah, even more now, because I know the people I'm going with are fantastic! So what do you all say,

ARE WE GONNA ROCK SABAH OR WHAT?

ps: Got pack yet or not? Haha!

first, let me blog on the bonding camp.

hmm. i have to say its like our first step towards the trip to sabah. i'm really glad that we have a camp like this so that we can bond as the name already states so. =) everyone really come together and make an effort to know each other. by the second day, we were chatting like one BIG family which is good!

talks that were arranged for those two days made me even have a bigger urge to go!!! haha. seems to me that sabah is a cool place to visit too. food were delicious and believe or not.. most were prepared by guys!!! haha. amazing.

second, the visit to the children's home.

the kids over there are VERY energetic. SERIOUS! always running around and playing catching. some girls really like to play with my hair and they even fought over it!? that was pretty funny. all in all, there was this little boy that really caught our attention because he was really LOUD. tell me about it. however, in one way or other, you can see the innocence within them.

a fruitful trip i would say.

yep. that's all for MY reflection! ciao~

yo yo.. im putting 2 stuffs into 1 entry.. =)

Bonding Camp:

Like was said during the camp debrief, I say it agian here, the camp objective is met as all of us from someone who only be with their own cliques to somebody who knows everybody in the whole team. The bonding camp is really good and make us bond as ONE WHOLE TEAM. everybody else's participation makes a lot of difference in the camp. The games and the life journey make us get to know each other better and will make our 15days in Sabah a fruitful one.. LEarning to give and take and flexibility is the most important part of thhe camp for me.. over at Sabah, we will only have each other to support each other.. =)

Singapore Children Society Visit:

We were all having briefing in the bus on the way there. This is cool.. Never had a briefing or meeting in a bus before.. haha.. Whatever we planned for didn't pull through as the kids are not suitable for the games. We began to use impromptu-ness to plan one or two games to start it off. In the end, we had interact and learn more abt the kids. Though tiring, this i belief is a good start so that over in Sabah we know how to handle the kids. It is really a learning experience.. Patience and tactful ness really is must to handle the kids fairly.. =)

Rizal
